Malinda was a civil war widow. She lost her husband, her father, and several more family members while fighting to defend their way of life. Her husband was Capt. William Abner Bryant, CSA. He was killed in the Battle of Lone Jack, Jackson Co., MO, Aug 16, 1862 and is buried in a mass grave at the battleground site. They are my gg-grandparents.
